Those looking for a quiet community with easy access to downtown should check out the Leschi neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Leschi is located east of downtown along Lake Washington, and commuters can easily get to the downtown using Interstate 90, which runs along the neighborhood’s south border. The Seattle Municipal Street Railway cable car used to run from this neighborhood to Pioneer Square, and certain streets still retain some of the tracks.

Leschi was named for Chief Leschi of the Nisqually Native American tribe and is a diverse neighborhood, both economically and ethnically, rather than a home for the rich only.
